Form Interrupted, 2022, Tides Contemporary Art Gallery, Kentville NS.
This ongoing relief print exploration is inspired by the psychological illusions and bodily distortions I experience. Losing touch with the body’s true physical form. Over time, our minds can distort our view of our own bodies and disrupt the visual information delivered to the brain. Twisting and warping what’s perceived as real.
My linoleum blocks are hand printed. One by one, I tile them to play with form, pattern, and movement. I’m creating interruptions in the visual rhythms - adding, removing, and slight shifts in colour and layers.
