Monique Silver is a visual artist practicing in the Sipekne’katik region of Mi’kma’ki (Nova Scotia, Canada) and studying Art Therapy at the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI). She completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Mount Allison University with a focus in drawing and printmaking. Her mixed media creations utilize drawing and relief printmaking techniques to support her use of repetition, layering, collage and color blocking. Her art aims to capture the complexities of inhabiting bodies by preserving lived emotions, responses, and expectations placed on the body that contradict one another.
